Do you have a Venmo account linked to a bank account?

You may be entitled to up to $500 or more, depending on your state of residence.

  • You may qualify for this claim if your Venmo account is linked to a personal bank account.
  • Venmo users who value their privacy should sign up.
  • All claims are backed by Labaton Keller Sucharow, a national law firm that has recouped over $30 Billion for people like you.

PayPal, Inc., is a financial technology company that owns and operates Venmo, a popular mobile payment app that links to a user’s bank account and permits them to send and receive money through the Venmo app. When a user links their bank account with Venmo, they are presented with a login screen bearing the logo and likeness of their financial institution, creating the misleading impression that users are logging into their bank accounts.

In reality, Venmo’s financial institution verification page routes a user’s credentials to Plaid, a third-party financial technology company, that then connects Venmo with the user’s bank account. Plaid also utilizes the credentials obtained from Venmo’s users to collect a bevy of sensitive financial information which it then leverages for enormous profits.

We are investigating whether Venmo’s deception violates a number of federal and state privacy laws and consumer protection laws, including anti-phishing laws. Check to see if you qualify for a claim.
