Brigit is a company that offers a program called Instant Cash through an app. Consumers link their bank accounts to the Brigit app. If they sign up for either Brigit Plus or Brigit Premium get access to the Instant Cash program, which is advertised as a way to get quick and easy cash loans of up to $250 from Brigit. The loans are repayable either automatically on your next payday, or consumers can repay early by setting a different payment date. Brigit charges fees either for access to its Plus or Premium programs, or consumers pay a fee for “express” access to an Instant Cash loan. While styled as a “cash advance” on a consumer’s paycheck, this claim alleges that the Instant Cash program is actually a type of “earned wage access” loan, and that Brigit is not making appropriate disclosures to consumers about the true costs of its Instant Cash loans.
Attorneys with Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP and Berger Montague, P.C., are representing clients in individual consumer arbitration claims against Brigit. If you have a Brigit account and received Instant Cash from Brigit, you may qualify for a claim under federal and state laws depending on your state of residence.
